I introduce the following changes to the rules of organisation of teaching activities for all forms and levels of education at Lodz University of Technology in the period from 3 January 2022 to 9 January 2022.
§ 1
1. Lectures, calculus classes, laboratory classes, project classes, seminar classes, language classes, physical education classes regardless of the number of student groups scheduled in the period from 3 January 2022 to 9 January 2022 are held exclusively in the remote mode, i.e. without the direct presence of students at the University's facilities, using distance learning methods and tools in a synchronous manner. Classes scheduled as full-time during this period are held in the remote mode.
2. It is recommended to consider changes in the organisation of the timetable from 3 January 2022 to 9 January 2022 and in the remaining part of the winter semester in such a way as to postpone until after 9 January 2022 the realisation of selected classes scheduled as full-time, in particular, calculus and laboratory classes, for which the achievement of the learning outcomes included in the study programme necessarily requires the presence of students at the University.
Accordingly, selected lectures, seminar classes, project classes scheduled as full-time should be concentrated in the period from 3 January 2022 to 9 January 2022 and periodically switched to remote delivery mode.
Decisions in each such case are taken by the Dean responsible for the implementation of a given study programme in consultation with the teachers of the course in question. In the case of classes conducted by organizational units other than the lead faculty for the study programme, decisions are made by the Dean of the lead faculty in consultation with the head of the unit or units conducting the course.
3. In the period from 3 January 2022 to 9 January 2022, verification of learning outcomes in the form of examinations, tests, presentations, tutorials, project assessments, report assessments, etc., is not planned or carried out unless they have been planned in advance in a remote mode and the students and doctoral students concerned have been informed of this before the date of issuing this announcement and their implementation will be possible with a modified timetable. The students concerned should be informed in advance of the changes and any comments and reservations of students regarding the technical possibility of student participation in their application should be taken into account.
4. No diploma examinations are planned or organised during the period from 3 January 2022 to 9 January 2022, unless the dates for diploma examinations falling during that period have already been set before the date of issuing this announcement and the diploma students concerned have been informed of this. In such cases diploma examinations during that period are held in a stationary mode at the University. At the student's request, by a decision of the appropriate Deputy Dean for Student Affairs, a diploma examination previously set in the aforementioned period may be rescheduled to another date, pursuant to §40 sec. 5 of the Study Rules at Lodz University of Technology.
5. No competency examinations are planned or organised between 3 January 2022 and 9 January 2022. Competency examinations scheduled before the date of this announcement falling within this period are subject to change. The students concerned must be informed of the changes in advance.
6. For the period from 3 January 2022 to 9 January 2022, consultations for students are held remotely.
7. There will be no student research related to the completion of dissertations at the University between 3 January 2022 and 9 January 2022.
8. It is permissible for doctoral students to conduct research at the University between 3 January 2022 and 9 January 2022. Such admission is made by a decision of the Dean, at the written request of the doctoral student, after obtaining the consent of the supervisor and the consent of the head of the unit in which the research is
conducted. The participation of doctoral student in the conduct of research may take place on condition that the conditions and safety rules laid down for employees of the University are ensured. The Dean is responsible for organising the research station and ensuring that working conditions for the doctoral student are in accordance with the safety rules in force. When taking a decision, the Dean may take into account the declaration submitted voluntarily by the doctoral student that they have undergone a protective vaccination against COVID-19 with a vaccine authorised for sale in the European Union.
§ 2
1. Students and doctoral students referred to in this announcement should be understood as students, participants of doctoral studies and doctoral students of the Interdisciplinary Doctoral School of Lodz University of Technology, participants of postgraduate studies, courses, training courses and other forms of education, respectively.
2. The Dean referred to in this announcement should also be understood as the director of the college for degree programmes offered at the college, the Director of the International Cooperation Centre of Lodz University of Technology for degree programmes offered at the International Faculty of Engineering, the head of doctoral programmes, the Director of the Interdisciplinary Doctoral School of Lodz University of Technology, the Director of the Language Centre of Lodz University of Technology, the Director of the Sports Centre of Lodz University of Technology, the Director of the Mathematics and Physics Teaching Centre, the Director of the Papermaking and Printing Centre of Lodz University of Technology, the head of postgraduate studies and the head of a course or training course.

The Announcement comes into force on 3 December 2021.
