Rules of accommodation in student dormitories of Lodz University of Technology in the academic year 2020/2021
1. Accommodation procedures:
1) a student who has been granted accommodation in a dormitory is obliged to check in on the date specified in the Announcement of the Director of the Academic Residential Campus of Lodz University of Technology on accommodation in student dormitories in the 2020/2021 academic year;
2) persons who cannot check in on the required date should notify the competent administration of the student dormitories by phone or e-mail. Contacts to individual dormitories can be found on the website of Lodz University of Technology at: https://www.p.lodz.pl/pl/administracja-osiedla-akademickiego-politechniki-lodzkiej;
3) students who come to be accommodated, enter individually into the dormitory where they have been granted accommodation;
4) only a person entitled to accommodation may enter the dormitory;
5) persons waiting to be accommodated may stay only outside the building of the dormitory and are obliged to keep a minimum distance of 1.5 m between those waiting and to cover their mouths and noses with masks;
6) all persons entering the dormitory are obliged to cover their mouths and noses and disinfect their hands, as well as comply with the rules applicable to the residents of dormitories during the COVID-19 epidemic;
7) in order to efficiently perform the accommodation procedure, the student should prepare previously completed forms: questionnaire and declarations, which are available on the website of the Academic Residential Campus of Lodz University of Technology;
8) the student should read the binding Order Regulations of Dormitories at the Academic Residential Campus of TUL and the rules that take into account the prevention of the spread of SARS-CoV-2 virus. By signing the relevant declarations, the student undertakes to strictly comply with them. The students use their own stationery;
9) The persons who may be accommodated include those who:
a) do not have health symptoms characteristic of SARS-CoV-2 infection (fever, cough, shortness of breath),
b) for the last 14 days, they have had no contact with a person who was confirmed to be infected with SARS-CoV-2 or with a person who was under quarantine,
c) are not under quarantine;
10) the person with symptoms does not take part in the accommodation procedure and should immediately contact the doctor. The person who finds out about the symptoms should notify the administration of the dormitory in which the accommodation was granted in order to arrange an individual, later date of moving-in;
11) the administration of the dormitory may refuse to accommodate a person with symptoms.
2. Rules for the use of Lodz University of Technology dormitories:
1) students are accommodated in single and double rooms;
2) residents of dormitories are required to cover their mouths and noses with protective masks in all common parts of dormitories, maintain a social distance of at least 1.5 m and to disinfect their hands with disinfectant liquid in touchless dispensers placed at the entrances to the buildings every time they enter the building;
3) there are restrictions on the number of people allowed to stay at the same time in common areas, such as kitchens and kitchenettes, laundry rooms, drying rooms and restrictions on the use of the lift;
4) during the transitional period (until further notice), students may not use public spaces, such as gyms, billiards, fitness, club and recreation rooms, TV rooms, study rooms, drawing rooms, etc.;
5) in dormitories, information is provided about the need to strictly observe certain rules of hygiene when coughing and sneezing, hand hygiene, avoiding touching the mouth and nose with the hands, and absolute avoidance of close contact with people with respiratory symptoms. Students are required to be familiar with the above-mentioned information;
6) it is forbidden for other persons to stay in dormitories, to organize events and gatherings, to receive guests (even students accommodated in other dormitories);
7) in student dormitories, regular disinfection of common parts, surfaces such as handrails, buttons, lifts, etc. takes place;
8) if the nature of the case does not require personal contact with administration staff, students are recommended to contact them by phone or e-mail. In the event of personal contact with the dormitory staff, students are required to cover their mouths and noses.
3. Rules of conduct in the event of suspected infection of a dormitory resident:
1) if the student notices disturbing symptoms (fever above 38 C, cough, shortness of breath and trouble with breathing, muscle pain and general fatigue, loss of taste and smell), the student should immediately notify the dormitory administration by phone or e-mail and contact a doctor;
2) immediately after noticing the symptoms of infection, the student is obliged to stay in his own room and not leave it until he receives instructions from the doctor;
3) in the event of symptoms of acute respiratory infection, the student should take far-reaching precautions when leaving the room, cover his mouth and nose with a mask, do not touch generally accessible surfaces in the building. The room in which the person suspected of being infected with the SARS-CoV-2 virus stayed remains out of use until it is disinfected;
4) in the case of referral to quarantine by the appropriate services, the student should inform the administration of the dormitory and, taking all possible precautions, leave the dormitory and go to the permanent residence or the quarantine facility.
4. The regulations concerning accommodation contained in Announcement No. 3/2020 of the Rector of Lodz University of Technology of 13 March 2020, Announcement No. 5/2020 of the Rector of Lodz University of Technology of 31 March 2020, Announcement No. 12/2020 of the Rector of Lodz University of Technology of 21 May 2020 and Information No. 7 of the Vice-Rector for Students' Affairs of Lodz University of Technology of 5 May 2020 will expire.
5. The Announcement comes into force on 1 October 2020.
