Announcement No. 18/2020 of Rector of TUL of 16 October 2020 issued on the basis of the Ordinance No. 21/2020 of the Rector of TUL of 9 March 2020 on special measures related to the prevention, counteraction and combating of the SARS-CoV-2 virus at Lodz University of Technology.
As a consequence of introducing additional restrictions, orders and bans in Poland in connection with the COVID-19 epidemic, I would like to inform you about my decision to introduce the following conditions for the organization of classes for all forms and levels of education at Lodz University of Technology until further notice:
- Lectures, tutorials, laboratory classes, project classes, seminars, foreign language classes, physical education classes and consultations take place only remotely, i.e. without the direct presence of students at the University facilities.
- Diploma exams are held exclusively in a remote mode.
- In justified cases, when obtaining the learning outcomes provided for in the given study program absolutely requires the presence of students at the University, it is allowed to carry out the practical part of laboratory classes in direct mode on the premises of the University. The decision in each such case will be made by the dean responsible for the realization of the given study program.
- In the case of classes conducted by organizational units other than the leading faculty for the study program, the decision is made by the dean of the leading faculty in consultation with the head of the unit or units running the course.
- In special and justified cases, it is possible for students to conduct research on the premises of the University in order to complete their theses. The decision in this matter is made by the appropriate dean, at the written request of the student, after obtaining a positive opinion of the supervisor and the consent of the head of the unit where the research is conducted.
- Teaching classes and research work of the students, which are carried out on the basis of the decision of the Dean in direct contact with the University, must be organized in accordance with current decisions, recommendations and guidelines of the State Sanitary Inspectorate authorities and other relevant state administration entities, as well as ordinances and announcements of Lodz University of Technology. The Dean is responsible for the proper organization of classes and conditions for the realization of studies for the graduates.
- The students referred to in this Announcement should be understood as students, participants of doctoral studies and PhD students of the Interdisciplinary Doctoral School of Lodz University of Technology, participants of postgraduate studies, courses, trainings and other forms of education.
- The Dean referred to in this Announcement is also understood to be the director of the college for study programs of the college and the director of the Interdisciplinary Doctoral School of Lodz University of Technology for the classes conducted for doctoral students of the Interdisciplinary Doctoral School of Lodz University of Technology.
- The Announcement comes into force on October 17, 2020.
