Ladies and gentlemen,
in connection with the end on September 30, 2020. the period of validity of the Regulation of the Minister of Science and Higher Education of May 21, 2020 on the temporary limitation of the operation of certain entities of the higher education and science system in relation to the prevention, counteraction and combating COVID-19 (Journal of Laws 2020, item 911), I inform and explain that:
1. The scientific, research and administrative activities conducted by the University are generally carried out on a full-time basis at the seat of the University.
2. There are no restrictions on the functioning of university organizational units introduced in connection with the suspension of education due to the epidemic situation.
3. Announcement No. 09/2020 of the Rector of Lodz University of Technology of May 20, 2020 restored on May 25, 2020 obligation for university employees to perform work at their place of work, under the existing conditions, in accordance with the Work Regulations at Lodz University of Technology. In exceptional and justified cases, at the request of the employee, the employee's immediate superior, i.e. the Rector, Vice-Rector, Dean, Institute Director, Head of Department, Director of a university unit, Chancellor and Bursar, respectively, may allow the employee to perform, for a specified period of time, the work set forth in the employment contract, outside the place of its permanent performance in the form of the so-called remote work. The supervisor decides on the method of supervision and reporting during remote work.
4. The organization and working conditions should take into account the applicable legal regulations and recommendations of the Ministry of Health, Chief Sanitary Inspector and other authorized bodies in order to minimize the risk of spreading the SARS-CoV-2 virus. The heads of the organizational units of universities in the scope that concern them are responsible for adapting the infrastructure and working conditions to the recommended sanitary regime and for enforcing the adopted sanitary regime.
5. Didactic activity in the winter semester of the 2020/21 academic year is conducted in a mixed mode on the terms and conditions specified in the Announcement No. 15/2020 of the Rector of Lodz University of Technology of August 25, 2020; in the Ordinance No. 48/2020 of the Rector of Lodz University of Technology of September 17, 2020 and in the Rector's Ordinance on the organization of classes with the use of distance learning methods and techniques at Lodz University of Technology in the academic year 2020/2021 in relation to preventing, counteracting and combating COVID -19 (Ordinance in preparation and will be published in the coming days).
6. Organizing meetings and conferences at Lodz University of Technology; running the activities of local governments and university student and doctoral organizations and associations, running sports, cultural and educational activities is possible provided that the current sanitary regime is maintained. Consent in these matters is given by those exercising supervision over the activity of the entity carrying out the action.
7. Identification and analysis of threats related to the epidemic situation in connection with SARS-CoV-2 virus infections has been carried out by the Anti-Crisis Management Staff appointed by Ordinance No. 21/2020 of the Rector of Lodz University of Technology of March 9, 2020. Information on emerging new threats, in particular on identifying infected students, doctoral students and employees should be transferred to the Anti Crisis Management Staff.
