Ordinance No. 48/2021 of the Rector of Lodz University of Technology of 16 September 2021

§ 1

I hereby oblige employees, students, participants of doctoral studies and doctoral students of the Interdisciplinary Doctoral School of Lodz University of Technology, participants of postgraduate studies, courses, trainings and other forms of education conducted at Lodz University of Technology to comply with the rules of organization and participation in classes carried out on the University premises as well as the rules of organization and participation written examinations and tests carried out in University facilities specified in Appendices 1, 2, 3 and 4 to this Ordinance respectively, i.e. in:

  1. Recommendations for organizers of didactic classes conducted on the premises of Lodz University of Technology (Appendix No. 1);
  2. Recommendations for organizers on the conditions for the conduct of examinations, tests and consultations on the premises of Lodz University of Technology (Appendix No. 2);
  3. Rules for the participation of students, participants of doctoral studies and doctoral students of the Interdisciplinary Doctoral School of Lodz University of Technology, participants of postgraduate studies, courses, trainings and other forms of education in didactic classes conducted at Lodz University of Technology (Appendix No. 3);
  4. Rules for the participation of students, participants of doctoral studies and doctoral students of the Interdisciplinary Doctoral School of Lodz University of Technology, participants of postgraduate studies, courses and trainings in examinations, tests, and consultations conducted on the premises of Lodz University of Technology (Appendix No. 4).

§ 2

I hereby introduce the obligation to permanently cover the mouth and nose with means of protection which has to be worn as a result of currently applicable regulations1 in Lodz University of Technology buildings by students, participants of doctoral studies and doctoral students of the Interdisciplinary Doctoral School of Lodz University of Technology, participants of postgraduate studies, courses, trainings and other forms of education.

§ 3

I hereby oblige the heads of organizational units of the Rector’s administration and the heads of basic organizational units of the University who are substantially responsible for the organization of didactic classes to constantly monitor the regulations which are currently in force and which specify the sanitary requirements for the organization of classes at the University as well as to update, specify and apply the requirements specified in Appendices 1, 2, 3 and 4 to this Ordinance.

§ 4

The following Ordinances shall expire:

  1. Ordinance No. 48/2020 of the Rector of Lodz University of Technology of 17 September 2020 on the organization and participation in classes as well as the organization and participation in exams, tests and consultations conducted on the premises of Lodz University of Technology under the conditions resulting from preventing, counteracting and combating the COVID-19 epidemic.
  2. Ordinance No. 9/2021 of the Rector of Lodz University of Technology of 8 March 2021 changing Ordinance No. 48/2020 of the Rector of Lodz University of Technology of 17 September 2020 on the organization and participation in classes as well as the organization and participation in exams, tests and consultations conducted on the premises of Lodz University of Technology under the conditions resulting from preventing, counteracting and combating the COVID-19 epidemic.

§ 5

The Ordinance shall enter into force on 16 September 2021, with effect from 1 October 2021.

 

Appendix No. 1

resulting from preventing, counteracting and combating the COVID-19 epidemic

 

RECOMMENDATIONS FOR ORGANIZERS OF DIDACTIC CLASSES CONDUCTED ON THE PREMISES OF LODZ UNIVERSITY OF TECHNOLOGY

  1. A notice in Polish and English shall be placed at the entrances to the University buildings where didactic classes or consultations with teachers are held, ordering the entering class participants and members of the public to use means of protection to cover their mouths and noses which are required to be worn by applicable law, and to disinfect their hands before entering the building and each time before entering the rooms where didactic classes or consultations are held. In these recommendations, “Class Participant” shall refer to a student, doctoral student, participant of post-graduate studies, course and training as well as a participant of other forms of education taking place at the University.

  2. Containers with hand disinfectant shall be placed at the entrances to the University buildings where classes or consultations with teachers take place. Instructions for the use of the disinfectant and the correct way of putting on the required means of protection must be displayed next to the hand disinfectant unit.

  3. Waste bins for used means of protection shall be placed at the entrances to the University buildings where didactic classes or consultations with teachers take place, and at the entrances to the rooms where didactic classes are held.

  4. The principle of social distance must be observed on the University premises in accordance with applicable regulations. It is forbidden to gather in corridors, which are used exclusively for moving whilst observing the applicable distances between people. It is necessary, in particular, to ensure that people waiting to enter classrooms keep a safe distance from each other resulting from applicable regulations.

  5. Didactic classes may be conducted in the venue and in groups of the size resulting from the applicable regulations.

  6. Participants of didactic classes held on the premises of Lodz University of Technology shall be unconditionally obliged to cover their mouths and noses with the means of protection required to be worn by applicable law. The university does not provide class participants with these means of protection.

  7. Classrooms should be opened early enough to limit the possibility of people congregating while entering the rooms.

  8. Entering the room, taking up seats and leaving the room at the end of the class should be done on a one at a time basis.

  9. No members of the public should be allowed to enter the rooms where classes are held.

  10. Hand disinfectant should be available immediately in front of or in each room where classes are held. Hand disinfection before entering the room is mandatory.

  11. Teachers conducting classes are required to draw up an attendance list for each didactic class. Attendance lists shall be retained by the teacher for a period of at least 15 months.

  12. Teachers conducting classes should cover their mouths and noses when moving around the classroom, using the means of protection required to be worn by applicable regulations.

  13. Classrooms must be ventilated before students enter them and after classes, taking care to ensure the comfort of students.

  14. It is recommended that participants be given the opportunity to leave the classroom for a short period of time during breaks of 15 minutes, at intervals of a maximum of every 45 minutes. In addition, such breaks should be used for ventilating the classroom.

  15. The surfaces of tables and hard seating surfaces as well as other objects used by class participants and teachers (e.g. light switches, whiteboard markers, keyboards, mice etc.) should be disinfected using appropriate products before each use of the room. Special attention should be paid to electronic equipment in classrooms that may be used by participants or teachers (e.g. keyboards, mice, etc.), which should not be cleaned with agents that can short-circuit or damage the equipment. If it is not possible to disinfect these surfaces, additional means of protection must be provided (e.g. disposable replacement foils for keyboards or mice) or disposable protective (nitrile or vinyl) gloves for staff and class participants. The use of latex gloves is not permitted as they can cause skin allergies. Building managers shall appoint staff to disinfect the premises.

  16. The equipment to be handled with protective gloves should be clearly labelled.

  17. In the case of classes where the University’s computers are used, it is possible for the participants to use their own equipment (e.g. keyboards, mice, etc.) provided that the technical conditions allow this.

RECOMMENDATIONS FOR ORGANIZERS ON THE CONDITIONS FOR THE CONDUCT OF EXAMINATIONS, TESTS AND CONSULTATIONS ON THE PREMISES OF LODZ UNIVERSITY OF TECHNOLOG

Group written tests and examination

  1. Written examinations and tests may be held in auditoriums, lecture halls and laboratory rooms of Lodz University of Technology provided that adequate distances, resulting from applicable regulations,1 are kept between students and between students and the teacher conducting the examination. The number of people in the room must not exceed the number resulting from the applicable regulations.

  2. It is necessary to ensure that people waiting to enter the room keep a safe distance from each other resulting from applicable regulations.

  3. Rooms should be opened early enough to limit the possibility of people congregating while entering the rooms.

  4. No members of the public should be allowed to enter the rooms where examinations or tests are held.

  5. Entering the room, taking up seats and leaving the room at the end of the test should be done on a one at a time basis.

  6. Waste bins for used means of protection shall be placed at the entrances to the rooms where tests are held.

  7. Hand disinfectant should be available immediately in front of or in each room where tests are held. Hand disinfection before entering the room is mandatory.

  8. Examinees are required at all times during a test or examination to use means of protection required to be worn by applicable regulations in order to cover their mouth and nose. The university does not provide examinees with these means of protection.

  9. Examiners and support teachers should cover their mouths and noses when moving around the room, using means of protection which are required to be worn by applicable regulations.

  10. It is recommended that examination sheets are laid out on the tables before examinees enter the room.

  11. Written assignments should be collected in a container, avoiding direct contact when assignments are handed in.

  12. Persons who are unable to take part in the examination or test due to health reasons are obliged to submit a document confirming the necessity of avoiding contact issued by an authorized entity (public health inspector, doctor) in order to justify their absence.

  13. Teachers are required to draw up an attendance list for each test or examination. Attendance lists shall be retained by the teacher for a period of at least 15 months.

  14. The rooms in which a test or examination is held must be ventilated before students are admitted and after the test, taking care to ensure the comfort of students.

  15. The surfaces of tables and hard seating surfaces used during a test as well as other frequently used objects (e.g. door knobs, light switches etc.) should be disinfected with liquid disinfection products before each use of the room.

 Individual oral tests and examinations

  1. It is necessary to ensure that people waiting to enter the examination room or consultation room keep a safe distance from each other resulting from applicable regulations.

  2. Oral examinations, tests and consultations may be held in classrooms, consultation rooms, etc., provided that adequate distance between the participant and the teacher is maintained, as required by applicable regulations.

  3. Waste bins for used means of protection shall be placed in the immediate vicinity of the rooms where examinations, tests or consultations with teachers are held.

  4. The teacher and the participant shall keep their mouth and nose covered while in the common room using the means of protection required to be worn by applicable regulations. The university does not provide examinees or consultation participants with these means of protection.

  5. Both participants and the teacher should disinfect their hands before and after each meeting.

  6. No members of the public should be allowed to enter the rooms where tests, examinations or consultations are held.

  7. The teacher conducting the examination, test or consultation and the participant should each use only their own writing instruments.

  8. The surfaces of tables and hard seating surfaces used during a meeting as well as other frequently used objects (e.g. door knobs, light switches etc.) should be disinfected with liquid disinfection products immediately after each individual meeting.

  9. The room must be ventilated every time prior to and immediately after the meeting.

  10. Persons who are unable to take part in the examination or test due to health reasons are obliged to submit a document confirming the necessity of avoiding contact issued by an authorised entity (public health inspector, doctor) in order to justify their absence.

  11. Teachers are required to draw up an attendance list for each test, examination or consultation. Attendance lists shall be retained by the teacher for a period of at least 15 months.

 

Appendix No. 3

RULES FOR THE PARTICIPATION OF STUDENTS, PARTICIPANTS OF DOCTORAL STUDIES AND DOCTORAL STUDENTS OF THE INTERDISCIPLINARY DOCTORAL SCHOOL OF LODZ UNIVERSITY OF TECHNOLOGY, PARTICIPANTS OF POSTGRADUATE STUDIES, COURSES, TRAININGS AND OTHER FORMS OF EDUCATION IN DIDACTIC CLASSES CONDUCTED AT LODZ UNIVERSITY OF TECHNOLOGY

  1. The rules on covering the mouth and nose using means of protection required to be worn by applicable regulations1 shall be observed in the areas of TUL buildings available to the general public.

  2. Only the participants of classes (according to the schedule) and the teachers conducting classes are allowed to be in the classroom during classes. The number of people in the room must not exceed the number resulting from the applicable regulations.

  3. Only a healthy person without any symptoms that might suggest an infectious disease may participate in classes organized on the premises of the University.

  4. A person who is in quarantine or home isolation is not allowed to participate in any classes organized on the premises of the University.

  5. Persons who are unable to take part in the examination or test due to reasons listed in points 3 and 4 are obliged to submit a document confirming the necessity of avoiding contact issued by an authorized entity (public health inspector, doctor) in order to justify their absence.

  6. Class participants are required to have their own means of protection covering the mouth and nose as specified by applicable regulations. The university does not provide class participants with these means of protection. Persons without the above-mentioned means of protection shall not be allowed to attend classes, which shall be considered as absence from classes.

  7. All used means of protection must be disposed of in the bins located at the entrances to the University buildings where didactic classes are held and at the entrances to the rooms where didactic classes are held.

  8. Teachers conducting classes should cover their mouths and noses when moving around the room, using means of protection specified by applicable regulations.

  9. It is necessary to come to classes ahead of time.

  10. While waiting to enter the classroom, participants are obliged to keep an appropriate distance, resulting from applicable regulations as well as to cover their mouths and noses with means of protection specified by applicable regulations.

  11. On entering the room, it is necessary to disinfect hands with a disinfectant liquid provided by the University.

  12. Class participants enter the room where classes are held on a one at a time basis at the invitation of the teacher and take the seats indicated by the teacher. Students are not allowed to choose and change seats or move around the room during the class.

  13. Persons participating in classes shall use their own materials and instruments (ruler, compass and calculator, etc.).

  14. In the case of classes where the University’s computers are used, it is possible for the participants to use their own equipment (e.g. keyboards, mice, etc.) provided that the technical conditions allow this.

  15. Leaving the class room at the end of the class shall take place as indicated by the teacher.

  16. Class participants are not allowed to stay in the classrooms outside the class period due to the need to disinfect these areas.

RULES FOR THE PARTICIPATION OF STUDENTS, PARTICIPANTS OF DOCTORAL STUDIES AND DOCTORAL STUDENTS OF THE INTERDISCIPLINARY DOCTORAL SCHOOL OF LODZ UNIVERSITY OF TECHNOLOGY, PARTICIPANTS OF POSTGRADUATE STUDIES, COURSES, TRAININGS AND OTHER FORMS OF EDUCATION IN EXAMINATIONS, TESTS AND CONSULTATIONS CONDUCTED ON LODZ UNIVERSITY OF TECHNOLOGY

Group written tests and examinations

  1. Only a healthy person without any symptoms that might suggest an infectious disease may participate in an examination or test.

  2. A person who is in quarantine or home isolation is not allowed to participate in any examinations or tests.

  3. Persons who are unable to take part in the examination or test due to reasons listed in points 1 and 2 are obliged to submit a document confirming the necessity of avoiding contact issued by an authorised entity (public health inspector, doctor) in order to justify their absence.

  4. During an examination or a test, only examinees and the teacher conducting the examination may be present in the examination room. The number of people in the examination room must not exceed the number resulting from the applicable regulations.

  5. During the examination each examinee shall use their own instruments (ruler, compass, calculator, etc.).

  6. Examinees are required to have and use at all times during the examination or test their own means of protection covering the mouth and nose as specified by applicable regulations.1 The university does not provide these means of protection. Persons without the above-mentioned means of protection shall not be allowed to enter the examination room, which shall be considered as absence from the examination or test.

  7. All used means of protection must be disposed of in the bins located at the entrances to the University buildings where examinations are held and at the entrances to the rooms where classes are held.

  8. It is necessary to come to the examination ahead of time.

  9. While waiting to enter the examination room, examinees are obliged to keep an appropriate distance, resulting from applicable regulations as well as to cover their mouths and noses with means of protection specified by applicable regulations.

  10. On entering the room, it is necessary to disinfect hands with a disinfectant liquid provided by the University.

  13. Leaving the place and the examination room at the end of the examination or test shall take place as indicated by the teacher.

  14. Examinees are not allowed to remain in the examination room outside the examination or test period due to the need to disinfect these areas.

Individual oral tests and examinations, face-to-face consultations

  1. Only a healthy person without any symptoms that might suggest an infectious disease may participate in a meeting.

  2. A person who is in quarantine or home isolation is not allowed to participate in any meeting.

  3. Persons who are unable to take part in the examination or test due to reasons listed in points 1 and 2 are obliged to submit a document confirming the necessity of avoiding contact issued by an authorized entity (public health inspector, doctor) in order to justify their absence

  4. Only the person taking the examination or attending consultations and the teacher conducting the examination, test or consultations may be present in the room During the meeting.

  5. Prior to entering the room, it is necessary to disinfect hands with a disinfectant.

  6. All persons taking part in an examination, test or consultations are required to have and use at all times during the examination or test their own means of protection covering the mouth and nose as specified by applicable regulations. The university does not provide these means of protection. Persons without the above-mentioned means of protection shall not be allowed to enter the room where an examination, test or consultations take place, which shall be considered as absence from the examination or test.

  7. All used means of protection must be disposed of in the bins located at the entrances to the University buildings where examinations or consultations with teachers are held and at the entrances to the rooms where didactic classes are held.

  8. Each person participating in the meeting shall use their own materials and instruments (ruler, compass and calculator, etc.).
